  • What curriculum do you use?
    Fellowship Academy follows the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards. We use the following texts: BJU Press Math BJU Press Heritage Series BJU Press Spelling Christian Liberty Press Phonics Reading A-Z Apologia Press Who is God? LifPack Math Purposeful Design Science SPectrum Grammar
  • Is this a home school Co-op?
    No. Our model is a 4 +1. Students attend Monday- Thursday and have an off-site learning day on Friday. We are attractive to homeschool parents becasue students may sign up for individual course or extension classes rather than take a full load.
  • Are your teachers certified?
    Yes. All our teachers have a valid teachers certification.
  • Do you teach cursive?
    Yes. All of our students in 3rd-5th grades are instructed in cursive. Research has shown this writing style has cognitive benefits for our students.
  • Do your students take the Texas STAAR test?
    Fellowship Academy takes the Terra Nova 3 Achievement test every spring for all grade levels. This test provides teachers and parents insight into what is being learned. The results are used to guide teachers and parents in future instruction.
  • What is the parent's role in this model of schooling?
    Parents are uniquely positioned to instruct their children as they possess special knowledge of their child’s learning style and capability as well as the relational experience to deliver private instruction in a relaxed environment. The following are definitions that can help explain the parent role at home on the off-site learning days: Home Teacher The parent must be available to read instructions and explain the lesson activity on the day the student is home. This is needed primarily at the K-3rd grade level and for those early readers. Tutor The parent must be available at home to go over the assignments given by the classroom teacher and provide additional instruction for the lessons as needed by the student. They will encourage and supervise the completion of all work and help facilitate special projects. Tutors are needed primarily at the 3rd-6th grade level. Course Monitor Parent must be available on the days the student is at home to monitor the success and completion of work and confirm that the work completed is the student’s.   • What is the Dress Code?
    Fellowship Academy’s dress code is intended to encourage modesty and decency and to minimize the use of clothing as a significant means of establishing identity or social status. Basic uniform is: Purple, white or navy polos or dress shirt Black, khaki or blue pants / shorts / skirts Fellowship Academy t-shirts may be worn
  • How is on-campus class different than off-site classes?
    On Campus Class involves the student in a classroom with peers and a teacher. The class will work through lessons and concepts in whole class, small group or individual settings. The teacher will provide instruction, guidance, and support. Off-Site Class will happen outside of school on Friday. The student will work through the lessons assigned by the teacher. Parents with will receive instructions from the classroom teacher on a regular basis outlining homework assignments, follow-up study over covered material, and preparation or review needed for their next class. Parents will also bear the primary responsibility monitoring their child's academic progress including the timely submission of all assignments. Parents will encourage and supervise the completion of all work and help facilitate special projects.
  • What do the students do for lunch?
    Students will need to bring a lunch. The elementary school will dine in the Kid Zone room with open seating. The middle school will dine in the Loft with open seating. On Thursdays we offer a "Schlotzsky's for Lunch" program. Families wishing to participate can set up an account at Schlotzsky's in Liberty Hill. Orders are turned in on Wednesday by 2:00. The meal is delivered by lunch time on Thursdays.
  • What are your class sizes?
    We restrict our class size to 10 students for grades K-5th. Junior High and High School classes are capped at 12. Extensions classes are capped at 15,
  • When can my child start kindergarten?
    We accept students who turn 5 by September 1st into our kindergarten class.
  • What is the application process?
    1. Attend a informational meeting 2. Complete the application 3. Particpate in the Family Interview with Enrollment Panel 4. Receive an admission decision 5. Compete the placement testing Placement testing allows Fellowship Academy to place student based on academic level. 6. Submit tuition 7. Prepare and pray 8. Attend a New Parent Orientation
  • Do I have to be a member of Fellowship Church?
    No. We require that all families are active in a Bible believing church and sign their agreement with our Statement of Faith.
  • Can this model of schooling be successful if both parents work?
    One of the most important ingredients in the success in school is an available parent who can properly work with the student when needed. If there is an adult who can monitor and supervise the student in their “off-site class” at home or a parent’s work place, this model may work for you.
